Responsible for the North Carolina Hunter Education Program. Ensure the program is operating under parameters set forth by US Fish and Wildlife Service, International Hunter Education Association, federal and state law. Write and ensure compliance of two multi-million dollar grants. Oversee the hunter education operations of over 200 wildlife law enforcement officers, nine district hunter education specialists, and a network of nearly 1,000 volunteer hunter education instructors.

Responsible for the North Carolina Archery in the Schools Program. Design and implement infrastructure to move the Archery in the Schools program from a pilot phase to a functional program within the North Carolina Hunter Education Program. Assist the state hunter education coordinator with the overall operation and budget of the state’s hunter education program.

Responsible for the North Carolina Hunter Education Program in District 3. Managed the certification, training, and program schedule for nearly 150 volunteer hunter education instructors. Ensure public demand for courses was being met for Basic Hunter Education and multiple Advanced Hunter Education Courses by working closely with volunteer instructors and North Carolina’s Wildlife Enforcement Officers. Assisted with the development of the National Archery in the School’s Program in North Carolina. Presented programs to different civic groups, government agencies, schools, etc. on the North Carolina Hunter Education Program and the hunting heritage of North Carolina.

Implemented recreation programs in a small town setting. Managed town little league baseball, basketball, and football. Assisted with overall operations of a multi-use building and recreational facilities.

Historical Interpreter/ Seasonal

Moores Creek National Battlefield

Currie, NC

Responsible for living history programs and live fire demonstrations of 18th century firearms and artillery. Assisted with the design and scope of work plan for a half mile long, self guided trail that presented the ecosystem of a Longleaf Pine Forest and the importance of naval stores (tar, pitch, turpentine, and timber) to colonial North Carolina’s economy.
